SOA P1 exam Fee :

• $175 (U.S. dollar)
• can register for examination discount program (available for UM, UKM, UTAR undergraduate student)
• after the discount program, the fee become about $100
• register form can get it from www.soa.org

  Landmark is Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Jalan Sultan Ismail. Located at the business building ajoining with Sheraton Hotel. Via LRT from anywhere and stop at LRT Dang Wangi, you need to cross the bridge and road heads towards Sheraton Hotel, it will be about 5 minutes walk. Via Monorail and stop at Medan Tuanku, walk straight down towards Sheration Hotel, it will take about 5 minutes. Via STAR and stop at Sultan Ismail and walk down the Jalan Sultan Ismail heading to Sheraton Hotel, it will take about 15 minutes to reach the Sheraton Hotel.

SOA P1 exam format :

• SOA P1 exam is 30 multiple choice questions, answer it by using computer, duration is 3 hours
• After complete the exam, a slip stating pass/fail will be given
• The actual result will be post to you in 3 weeks
• The grade of SOA exam doesn't have a fixed range, it is depend on the statistic graph of mark of the candidates. That means it will limit how many percent candidates get A and how many percent candidates fail the exam.

What is Actuarial Science ?

Actuarial Science is still an unpopular course, but already been expected this course is potentially develop in the future.

What is the requirement for a Actuarial Science student ?

• strong mathematics basic
• good in mathematics calculation
• interested in probability, business, economic
• a little bit software programming skill (C/C++ language)
• good language communication (English)
• hardworking and perseverance

• bank (bank investment)

• large company (actuarial analyst)

Salary : (first/second class degree)

• fresh graduate (without any SOA paper) - RM 2000 +
• fresh graduate (with 1/2 SOA paper) - RM 2500 +
• fresh graduate (with 3/4 SOA paper) - RM 3000 +
• experienced degree holder (with 5/6 SOA paper) - RM 7000 +
• experienced degree holder (with 7/8 SOA paper) - RM 10000 +

If fresh graduate without any SOA paper, the salary is extremely low.
Thus most student will sit for SOA paper during university, to make sure that passed at least 3 SOA paper when graduate from degree.
